The Challenges women face – Sticky floors vs Glass ceilings – Learn how to release ourselves from being stuck.
In the past we have heard talk of the glass ceiling, and how women often can see waht is above but there is an invisible layer between them and their next career step into senior leadership. Rather than thinking about breaking through the glass, there is also a sticky floor that women can allow themselves to be stuck to by being too perfect, by taking too much on without boundaries and by having doubts about their ability to do the next job. We explore strategies that will help to release us from the floor that holds us.
Covering – Why do we cover and what happens when we ‘uncover’ – Learn how to be authentic in work
We all have a human need to belong and yet we also like being with people who are like us. We cover in order to fit in, and therefore do not bring our whole selves to work, we are playing a part’ rather than being congruous and whole. Once we understand this and choose to do something differently, we can liberate others to do the same.
Executive Presence – What are the components, what are the different expectations of Men and Women. Learn how to be a woman at work.
Executive presence is used by companies as a way of measuring someones impact and yet it is a phrase that few people get proper insight into. We de- mystify this phrase, explaining and exploring what it is and how to increase yours.
Self awareness and Belief – How do our own beliefs get in the way of our potential. Learn how to rewrite our old self limiting beliefs.
The good news is ‘Its all in the head’ – the bad news is ‘its all in the head” understanding what is in there and how this can help or hinder us is a start. Learning how to catch ourselves doing it right and continuously is the next stage. Mastery takes practice.
Self Confidence – What knocks it, and how do we increase it? – Learn how to use strategies to build confidence.
Self confidence, self worth and self awareness are key components of emotional intelligence a competence that women have more innate ability in. We need to harness that power to enable women to demonstrate the confidence they deserve to feel, and learn how to express that in verbal and non verbal ways. A light hearted playful exploration of how we move and how that sends messages to others.
Communication strategies – How do we influence most effectively? Learn how to use our power and different influencing strategies to be most effective.
We utilise about 20% of our power and influence, sticking to strategies and approaches we know or like and not considering why we hit brick walls. Using a metaphor for influencing helps to anchor the learning and to realise we have more flexibility and choice than we currently utilise.
The Four Capacities – How do we manage our energy for the sprint marathon. Learn how to manage energy not time.
Imagine a time where our work/life dynamic is satisfactory rather than constantly challenging. We can’t manage time – it is a constant, but we can manage our response to that time and our ability to keep focused on what is important, have the physical, mental an d emotional capacity to deal with it and feel at least some degree of control in our busy lives.
Personal Branding – Who am I and what do i stand for, how congruent am I in my behaviours against that. Learn how to align my brand and reputation.
Who are are matters. To women even more than men. We need to clear through the noise and be clear what we stand for within environments in our local culture, the world and our organisational culture that are sometimes asking us to conform to something else. Using some insight and ideas from thought leaders we create a foundation for this thinking.
Relationship Networking – How do we ensure we are focusing on the right relationships. Learn how to map and target those relationships that will create maximum success for our teams and ultimately positively impact our careers.
It is often surprising to discover that those people who are important to the success of our team goals and performance are disconnected from us. Using a targeted approach to analyse our relationship map, we prioritise key actions against the stakeholders that matter, with the intent of building long term sustainable relationships.
